Vacuload™ Recovery Systems

For fast recovery of used Abrasives

On some blasting projects you have to move your spent abrasive from A . . . . . all the way to . . . . . B. From ships hulls from inside tanks or from bridge containments, sometimes you just can’t use a wheelbarrow and shovel.

These projects call for an efficient vacuum system that can suck up spent used abrasives and collect it at a central point ready for recycling or disposal. The Vacuload™ systems have been specially designed for blasting sites and for handling abrasive. The series 2 and 4 models are powered by compressed air which saves you the cost of another expensive motor [when you have finished blasting simply switch your compressed air lines from your Blast machines to your Vacuload™ system and you’re in Recovery mode].

The vacuum is generated by a specially designed, air powered Eductor pump that is inexpensive, efficient and requires almost no maintenance. The larger series 5 and 6 Vacuload™ models generate vacuum using a Trilobe Positive Displacement Blower which is powered by a diesel engine or large electric motor. These units are suitable for projects where surplus compressed air is not available.

The Vacuload™ module is a compact skid mounted unit which combines the vacuum generating source with a high efficiency dust collector. This ensures that all dusty and contaminated air from vacuuming is fi ltered and only cleaned air exits to atmosphere. A complete vacuum recovery system is made by combining a Vacuload™ Module with a suitably sized Interceptor Storage Unit and the pick up tool to suit your application. See below.

How do the Vacuload™ Recovery Systems work?

All Vacuload™ System models work using the same operating principle.

  1. p30_pic_4FThe operator sucks up spent abrasive and the abrasive and air mixture travels along the vacuum hose or pipe to the Interceptor Storage Module.
  2. The Interceptor slows the air/abrasive mixture down such that all particles and heavy dusts drop out of the air stream and are stored for recycling or disposal. Light dusts remain entrained in the air stream and carry along a hose to the Vacuload™ Module.
  3. At the Vacuload™ Module all dusts are removed by final filtration cartridges in the dust collector [the cake of dust which builds up on the cartridges is dislodged by an automatic reverse pulse and is collected in a hopper awaiting disposal]. Clean air carries on through to the vacuum pump from which it is discharged to atmosphere.
